A new upscale restaurant focusing on wine and featuring a menu packed with more than 100 items will open next spring at the Mall at Partridge Creek in Clinton Township, mall officials announced Thursday.

Chicago based Cooper s Hawk Winery Restaurant will construct a brand new building from the ground up at the outdoor shopping center near Bar Louie, Wendy Batiste Johnson, the mall s general manager said.

I am absolutely ecstatic to have this restaurant coming here to Partridge Creek, Batiste said. It s a wonderful restaurant. I think the community will be delighted when it opens.

The wine menu has dozens of selections. Cooper s Hawk has won more than 300 awards in various wine competitions since the first restaurant opened in 2005, according to its website. Cooper s Hawk Winery produces around 600,000 gallons of wine each year,

The restaurant s concept includes a casual dining restaurant, full service bar, a private barrel aging room and Napa style tasting room and retail gift store.

In addition to Chicago,

there are Cooper s Hawk locations in Florida, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, Virginia and Wisconsin.

This is supposed to be a one of a kind restaurant, so it will attract people from within Macomb County but also from a long distance, which is good for all of us, Clinton Township Supervisor Robert Cannon said. Partridge Creek Mall continues to re invent itself every year. It s very impressive.

The announcement comes a few months ahead of the mall s 10th anniversary in October. A big celebration is planned, mall officials said. Partridge Creek s combination of stores, restaurants and gathering spaces have made the mall a destination spot for area shoppers.

The former Tin Fish was supposed to open earlier this summer as a seafood eatery named Muer Table + Bar. However,

a legal challenge from restaurateur Joe Vicari of Joe Muer Seafood stopped the proprieter from opening using the name associated with the renowned seafood restaurant. It s unknown what will become of the site.
